What is a BOP?

Do you run a small business that employs fewer than 100 employees? You may be eligible for a business owner’s policy, or BOP. What does that mean? Every responsible business owner understands the important role business insurance plays in protecting company assets and liability risks. However, purchasing several policies and keeping up with the various premium payments can be a hassle. group of person on stairs

With a BOP, most of your valuable coverage is bundled into one convenient policy. That means paying only one premium each month. For those who truly want a simple experience, you can bundle the basic coverages and rest easy knowing that you’re protected from life’s curveballs. If you’d prefer a more hands-on experience, talk to your independent insurance agent about customizing your BOP to meet all of your business’ needs with one comprehensive policy.

BOPs, in their most basic form, include property coverage and liability coverage. This may be enough for very small businesses or those without a large amount of assets. However, you have the option of adding on coverage as needed. For instance, a t-shirt company may want to add equipment breakdown coverage to protect their silk screens and other specialized machinery. Your agent can assist you with various options. But note that commercial auto insurance and workers compensation insurance will typically have to be purchased separately.

Apart from the 100 employee requirement, these policies are often limited to businesses that earn up to $1 million in annual revenue as well. Want to learn more about insuring your business with this valuable protection? Your independent agent can answer all of your questions.

We’re happy to assist you. Call General Insurance Services of Asheville, Inc at 828-252-6848 for more information on Asheville business insurance.
